Frequently Asked Questions

Do I get the same old passport number in the newly renewed passport?

No, you will be issued with a new passport number when renewing Nepal’s passport.

I have got a visa remaining in my old passport, what happens after renewing?

While renewing a passport, the details of old passports are also logged into the system so the old passport’s visa will be also recorded in the new passport’s record. Generally, you can travel on the basis of a visa on an old passport but it is best to consult directly with the relevant officials of the destination country.
